The new Talkeetna FSS commissioned July 30, 1997. This was the first Alaskan FSS facility to be constructed in the previous 30 years.

Summit FSS and employee housing complex. This facility was located just south of the Alaska Range. You can see the railroad connecting Fairbanks and Anchorage just above the housing area (white buildings), running horizontally through the center of the photo.
